Mama Bhagne Pahar, Dubrajpur

Mama Bhagne Pahar is located in Dubrajpur in Birbhum, West Bengal. It is a rock formation where a number of huge rocks splintered across the place of almost spherical natural boulders of granite rock, one balancing on the top of other, which is why it is called Mama Bhagne. It is in the eastern part of the Chotta Nagpur plateau. At the base of the hill lies the Phareshwar Temple. The area is a popular picnic spot among locals.

My Experience in Dubrajpur

I had boarded the first bus from Kolkata to Suri at 05:30. It took around 4:30 hrs to reach and got down at the Dubrajpur Power House more. I walked till the gateway to the hill, visited Pahareshwar temple and started climbing the hill through the bushes. There was a small temple at the top of the hill and a beautiful view of the surrounding plain, though there weren’t any other tourist except me. After spending sometime there, I climbed down and went towards my next destination for that day, Wood Fossil Park, just 35 kms from Dubrajpur.
